Everything Reminds me of Everything Else

Although most of the objects I create are designed as wearable pieces to facilitate performances, I have often exhibited them as standalone sculptures as well. Coming from a textiles background, I love working with fabrics and assembling pieces through sewing and embroidery; however, I personally don't consider my work 'textile art'.

I create my sculptures primarily through assemblage of found objects, in particular the tools of femininity and domesticity: within my sculptures these tools which promise social capital and acceptance are rendered useless, counterproductive, untrustworthy or absurd.

I have titled my sculptures 'Everything reminds me of Everything Else', because I realised it's just true. I have always been drawn to collecting strange objects wherever I go, and reassembling them into other objects. After my surgery in 2019, I felt even more compelled to recreate all the objects I came to associate with my hospital visits and doctors appointments.
